Description

This position is responsible for working closely with the Director of Technical Accounting, the Sustainability team, Finance teams, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Procurement and other key business teams to collect and analyze sustainability data to support the advancement of the Company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, goals, and efforts.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with various climate reporting frameworks, regulations and policies is desired.
  • Knowledge in technology solutions managing ESG data.
  • Proven ability to transform complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Ability to perform technical accounting research as needed.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 5 to 7 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor’s Degree or global equivalent in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree or global equivalent a plus. May hold one or more industry certifications; professional certification may be required to advance.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, validate, and interpret environmental, social, and governance data including greenhouse gas emissions as well as quantitative and qualitative disclosures under global regulatory rules that support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, in partnership with key stakeholders, to enhance company-wide ESG data management practices.
  • Work closely with the Sustainability team to identify opportunities and enhance processes and systems related to data gaps, data quality, automation, auditability, and overall data integrity.
  • Partner closely with business teams in providing data analysis to help inform their plans and strategies related to sustainability
  • Assist with updating and refining sustainability metrics in line with emerging industry sustainability standards.
  • Develop reports that accurately reflect sustainability trends and performance metrics.
  • Stay current on developments of various global sustainability reporting frameworks and regulatory rules in partnership with key business teams.
  • Perform technical accounting research on various US GAAP topics as needed.
