JOB OVERVIEW:

The Senior Sustainability Specialist (temporary 6 month placement with a potential 6 month extension) will be the sustainability focal point for the TenneT2GW project. They will use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Sustainability discipline across the project. Key stakeholders are TenneT, GE, McDermott and Batam PMT and the wider McDermott sustainability team.
Two main focus areas being lifecycle assessments (LCA) and human rights due diligence.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or relevant work experience in a related field
  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Social Responsibility, International Development, Human Rights, or a similar field is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a professional-level position with responsibility for activities such as program coordination, administrative analysis, financial analysis, program development, and contract negotiation, preferably in a facilities construction, modernization, or sustainability or energy management program
  • Experience in the development of National Content Plans (for different countries/projects)
  • Principles, practices, and current trends in environmental sustainability
  • Local, State, and Federal laws, principles, practices, ordinances, and legal requirements in sustainability and alternative energy including solar, battery storage, and green buildings
  • Request for qualification (RFQ), request for proposal (RFP), and contracting procedures
  • Principles of cost-benefit analysis -Emerging technological advances in sustainability practices
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Work both independently and collaboratively
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate complex sustainability and alternative energy issues
  • Work effectively with representatives of government agencies, private contractors, vendors
  • Plan and implement grant, incentive, and rebate programs for sustainability efforts
