Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Sustainment Engineer, the successful candidate will be a proactive engineer/specialist understanding the concepts of Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements a.k.a. Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Elements that are required to design, produce, field and maintain the operational readiness and capability of major systems and associated subsystems. The Integrated Product Support Elements include for example Engineering / Configuration Management, Technical Publications / Technical Data Management, Facilities and Infrastructure, Personnel (Operations & Maintenance), Supply Chain, Training, Maintenance Planning, and Obsolescence Management.
About the role:

Reporting to the Sustainment Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer Senior will perform the following duties:

  • Provide support to the Integrated Product Support Lead and perform work in more than one of the specialty areas - Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) Analysis and/or Design for Supportability (DfS), including Dependability, Upgradability, Standardization, Affordability
  • Perform work in the area of Product/Logistics Support Analysis (PSA/LSA), including Failure Mode and Effect Critical Analysis (FMECA); Reliability-Centred Maintenance Analysis (RCMA);Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Sparing Analysis; Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA); Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis
  • Review, validate and manage Integrated Product Support (IPS) processes
  • Act as point of contact with customers for IPS related issues and discussions
  • Lead implementation of IPS programs, including reviewing Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) data received from team members and subcontractors
  • Work with team members, integrated product teams, supply chain and other leads to determine program IPS/ILS needs and help define solutions
  • Analyze and determine compliance to IPS requirements
  • Develop Maintenance Plans
  • Develop Technical content for Operator & Maintainer Manuals
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to other team members
  • Support Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
  • Liaise across Lockheed Martin Canada engineering discipline teams when necessary to collaboratively drive solutions forward
  • Support a flexible work schedule while adhering to a minimum of 2 days in the office per week at one of the major Lockheed Martin Canada sites (Kanata, Montreal, Dartmouth, Victoria
  • Support travel and overtime when necessary to support program, team and customer milestones
  • Support a growth mindset; seek opportunities for further development, team, program and business priorities
  • Work under minimal supervision and follow common company processes.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or equivalent experience/combined education with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree;
  • 2+ year technical lead experience on major programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with LSAR, RMA and LSA software tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Team oriented with collaborative approach
  • Ability to obtain a minimum Government of Canada NATO SECRET Security Clearance in a timely manner.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED FOR THE ROLE

  • Familiarity with Industry Standards in IPS/ILS; Mil Standards and S Series standards (S1000D, S2000M, S3000L, S4000P, S5000F)
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (English/French).
