Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our innovative team, responsible for managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure in a dynamic real estate environment. This role will ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of systems, networks, and cloud environments, while driving automation and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering robust IT solutions to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure (e.g., servers, networks, storage) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshooting issues related to servers, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and patch management, to protect systems and data.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, data engineers) to support application deployments and data integration processes.
  • Manage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) and organizational IT policies.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and runbooks for operational consistency.
  • Mentor junior administrators and lead IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in managing Linux and Windows server environments (e.g., Ubuntu, Windows Server).
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network security (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus) and log management systems (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk).
  • Expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, AWS Backup).
  • Knowledge of database administration (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and data integration processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, RHCE) are a plus.
