POSITION SUMMARY:

Glass City IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to engage with an advanced team for the design, implementation, and support of secure, scalable IT infrastructure solutions for our clients. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership in project execution, and the ability to mentor junior team members while delivering exceptional service. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure optimal system performance, security, and compliance with industry standards.

• Solution Architecture & Design:

Lead the design of complex IT systems, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

• Implementation & Deployment:

Oversee and participate in system deployments, migrations, and integrations across diverse client environments.

• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

Implement monitoring solutions, analyze performance data, and fine-tune systems for maximum efficiency and uptime.

• Security & Compliance:

Develop and enforce security policies, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with applicable frameworks such as NIST, CJIS, HIPAA, or industry-specific regulations.

• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical business systems and data.

• Vendor & Technology Management:

Evaluate and manage third-party solutions, negotiate with vendors, and ensure technologies align with client goals and budgets.

• Leadership & Mentorship:

Provide technical guidance to Systems Engineers, mentor junior staff, and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.

• Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed technical documentation, project plans, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
