Location: Chinatown, Manila (plan to move to BGC location soon) Work Setup: On-site in Metro Manila (Chinatown area initially; Hybrid arrangement may be considered in future). A leading enterprise in industrial and building supplies, seeking a Senior Systems Administrator who wants to be part of this transformation. This is an opportunity to help shape IT infrastructure from the ground up, work with modern tools and practices, and grow alongside a department with ambitious goals. Responsible for the administration, reliability, and security of the company's server infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments. Ensures smooth day-to-day operations while contributing to infrastructure, modernization initiatives and documentation of systems and processes. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor's degree in any STEM field is preferred, but proven equivalent work experience will be gladly considered. Minimum 4 years of experience in systems administration or a related IT infrastructure role. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a brief video self-introduction in English. Willingness to work on-site in Metro Manila (Chinatown area initially; hybrid arrangement may be considered in future). Desired: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, collaborative workflows). Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Working knowledge of both Microsoft (Windows Server, Active Directory, M365) and Linux environments. Hands-on experience with virtualization and public cloud platforms (like AWS, Azure, GCP). Self-directed continuous learner who stays current with technology trends and pursues professional development independently. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified (Azure Administrator, M365), AWS Certified, CompTIA (Network+, Security+), etc, are valued but not required. JOB HIGHLIGHTS: Infrastructure Administration Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services. Manage virtualization platforms (Hyper-V & Linux KVM) and ensure performance of VMs. Support cloud infrastructure on Azure (experience with other major clouds instead is OK). Configure and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions; perform regular restore tests. Security and Compliance Administer endpoint protection, firewall rules, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls following the principle of least privilege. Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation efforts. Ensure timely application of patches and updates across servers and network devices. Operations and Support Monitor system and network performance using appropriate tools; respond to alerts and incidents promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, escalating when necessary. Provide technical guidance and support to end users and other IT team members. Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance.
