THE OPPORTUNITY

The Boeing MQ28 - Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities. Developed in partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force, it is the first military combat aircraft to be designed, manufactured and assembled in Australia in 50 years.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineerto support the integration, verification and test of new capabilities within the MQ-28 Ghost Bat.
The role is based in Brisbane but may also be performed from Williamtown.

As an experienced Senior Systems Engineer you will:

  • Lead, develop and document verification strategies for the MQ-28 System.
  • Lead and develop verification requirements, test plans, procedures and reports.
  • Coordinate and chair Test Readiness Reviews and other pertinent design reviews.
  • Coordinate, plan and conduct integration and formal verification testing.
  • Collaborate to develop design solutions that meet the capability objectives and requirements of the MQ-28 System.
  • Support ground and flight test operations for the MQ-28 System.Lead and develop engineering documentation (Specifications, Design Documents, Interface Definitions, Test Procedures etc) to support development of ground test equipment.

You may require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) in order to perform this role. This is not a requirement set or determined by Boeing but by the Department of Defence under laws issued in 2024.

Responsibilities
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in complex technical development and integration projects
  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in either Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical or Mechatronics, that satisfies the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia (MIEAust) or equivalent technical experience in a Systems Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems and software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in integration, verification & testing.
  • Experience with aircraft avionics and UAV systems (desirable).
  • Familiarity with engineering change processes.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS) and Model Based Systems Engineering methods (highly regarded)
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies (highly regarded)
  • Experience with Autonomous Systems projects (highly regarded)
  • Experience with aerospace and / or Defence projects (highly regarded.)
