Position Overview: KODA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer / Chief Engineer to provide Technical Advisory services for Army Integrated Fires Director within PAE Fires. The role encompasses both Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Offensive Fire Support systems. This position is on the executive staff to provide expert engineering and technical guidance with a primary focus on Joint and Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and its integration within the broader PAE Fires portfolio. This role is critical in ensuring that current and future IAMD capabilities are synchronized with the overall Fires enterprise to effectively meet the needs of the warfighter. The individual will be at the forefront of solving complex challenges in a multi-service and multi-agency environment, directly contributing to the nation's defense. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary technical expert advising the director on engineering issues across the PAE Fires portfolio, with an emphasis on developmental and in-service IAMD and Missile Defense systems. Apply advanced engineering principles and critical thinking to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges across the IAMD enterprise and its points of integration with offensive fires. Provide deep subject matter expertise on IAMD components, including radar systems, fire control mechanisms, kinetic and non-kinetic weapon systems, and their associated command and control. Identify gaps and disconnects in efforts between organizations, internal and external to PAE Fires. Advise and guide organizations to remedy gaps/issues across the IAMD kill chain and ensure its alignment with the larger Fires mission. Collaborate effectively with representatives from multiple military services, warfighting commands, and government agencies, including the Intelligence Community. Review and assess system designs, test results, and performance data for IAMD systems to ensure alignment with warfighter requirements and operational needs. Prepare and present detailed technical briefings, white papers, and recommendations on IAMD and integrated fires to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Mentor and advise personnel as needed to foster technical growth within the organization. Qualifications: 20+ years of experience in missile defense. Demonstrable, in-depth knowledge of Joint and Army IAMD systems, Missile Defense systems, their architecture, and operational concepts. Knowledge of regional and strategic missile threats to deployed forces, allies, and the U.S. homeland. Proven experience in systems engineering, particularly with IAMD-related systems such as radars, fire control, effectors, or command and control. Knowledge and experience with the developmental and operational testing of complex IAMD systems. An understanding of the broader Fires portfolio, including offensive systems, and the challenges of integration. Excellent ability to work collaboratively in a multi-service and inter-agency environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking to novel challenges. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience working with or supporting Army Air and Missile Defense units, PEO Missiles and Space, or the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Familiarity with digital engineering, modeling, and simulation (M&S) tools used in IAMD development. Direct experience in the technical integration of offensive and defensive fires. Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline. Experience working with intelligence agencies and utilizing intelligence data to inform technical solutions.
