JOB TITLE: SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Location: Hybrid – North Somerset/Devon (office attendance approx. twice a week)
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, plus performance bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing Technical Assurance team. This role is critical to the delivery of enterprise-level infrastructure solutions for our newest shareholder, North Somerset Council, as part of Delt’s continued expansion.
You’ll act as a senior technical lead on infrastructure systems, with specific expertise across Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, VMware, and O365. You’ll be working on exciting technical projects while ensuring our systems remain secure, optimised, and future-ready.
Please note, this is a hybrid opportunity, with an expectation to attend the Weston-Super-Mare office approx. twice a week.

You’ll also need:

  • Microsoft Certifications
  • ITIL qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar technical role
  • A solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure systems
  • Confidence managing competing priorities and adapting to change
  • Experience using service management tools and ticketing systems
  • Willingness to work occasional out-of-hours support
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of infrastructure solutions across a range of enterprise platforms
  • Supporting and managing Microsoft Azure, AVD, O365 and Active Directory environments
  • Managing enterprise domains, group policy and hybrid identity services (AAD)
  • Developing and maintaining PowerShell and other automation scripts
  • Overseeing Microsoft Intune and Exchange 365 administration
  • Managing VMware and associated storage solutions
  • Supporting security hardening, patch management and update rollouts
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and technical designs
  • Providing 3rd-line support and technical leadership on key projects
  • Working with proxy servers, SANs, networking (Cisco/Palo Alto), and AV solutions
