POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to provide advisory & assistance services (A&AS) to support a major defense program, focusing on the acquisition and execution of Space Force systems. The Space Operations Command (SpOC) team acquires services to modernize and sustain the space capabilities. The position is available in Colorado Springs, CO with a hybrid work arrangement. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing systems engineering and integration technical support for satellite communications network systems including Telemetry, Tracking & Control (TT&C), scheduling, communications, and associated systems.
  • Lead projects through planning, acquisition, and execution as technical support to the Government.
  • Provide expert guidance on the design and testing of space systems to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine schedules, and processes.
  • Perform engineering of system architectures, requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification.
  • Perform engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation of satellite communication systems.
  • Review and assess contractor designs and conduct trade studies on alternative system design approaches.
  • Participate in and lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines, and ensure system modifications meet requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • A Masters Degree along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent and a minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical skills to understand and analyze system problems, define potential solutions, and conduct in-depth technical analysis, assessments and trades and explain results of technical studies in a systems engineering context.
  • Experience with requirements traceability, architecture development, system-of-systems integration, testing, and technical document development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance and requirements analysis techniques, and acceptance testing strategies/methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects through the Systems Engineering life cycle and leading a team in identifying customer needs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

  • Prior experience as an A&AS or SE&I contractor
  • Past or present experience with SpOC or SSC
  • Current Top Secret clearance
