Description Loch Harbour Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support a large, complex cybersecurity, engineering, and PMO contract for a federal customer. This role provides advanced systems engineering expertise across a variety of platforms and technologies, supporting enterprise modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and resolve configuration and application issues on Microsoft Windows client systems (Windows 10 and above) in both enterprise and standalone environments, apply patches, and conduct scans on standalone workstations. The Senior Systems Engineer will also provide technical support to solutioning engineers and engineering-related projects. This position requires a self-driven professional with a strong interest in continuous learning and collaborative problem-solving in mission-focused environments. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and application issues on Microsoft Windows (Windows 10 and above) Apply patches and perform vulnerability scans on standalone systems Work in tandem with Cybersecurity and O&M stakeholders to drive IT modernization initiatives Enforce configuration and security standards Analyze and modify Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs), User Objects, and Computer Objects Support mobile solutions including: Microsoft Exchange (ActiveSync) Office 365 Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (AirWatch, JAMF Casper) Alternative token technologies (Derived Credentials) Support Microsoft Teams messaging systems Provide support for collaboration platforms such as SharePoint Support application-based firewalls, proxy servers, and operating systems Provide Layer 1 networking support (physical cabling, fiber) Deliver onsite data center support Support and administer Microsoft Hyper-V environments Provide Linux administration, implementation, maintenance, and design (preferred) Communicate technical implementation details to clients and business partners at appropriate technical and functional levels Prepare written reports identifying issues and recommending corrective actions Technical Qualifications Knowledge and experience with: Azure Active Directory LDAP Databases UNIX/Linux AWS Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, etc.) Experience supporting enterprise messaging and collaboration tools Experience working in data center environments Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V Solid understanding of Linux systems administration (preferred) Soft Skills & Professional Competencies Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and multiple offices to ensure integration and compatibility of network solutions Strong solutions-oriented and mission-driven mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Professional interaction with government representatives, vendors, and contract stakeholders Ability to quickly adapt to customer environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities Ability to thrive in fast-paced, continuous process improvement environments High level of professionalism, discretion, tact, and diplomacy Strong business ethics and protection of proprietary/confidential information Requirements Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Required Bachelor’s Degree 15+ years of systems engineering experience MCSE certification VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR CompTIA Security+ certification Preferred Qualifications (Pluses) Current DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) Previous experience supporting a DHS component Company Highlights At LHG, we offer our employees a full comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
