The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE). The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department oversees all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support various Raytheon programs around the world. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) team supporting the Open System Architecture Signal Injector (OSI) product. This role includes development and analysis of system and software requirements, development of complex mathematical algorithms, development of system architectures, and support to software and integration/test engineers. This position is an Onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO. What You Will Do You will perform architecture and requirements development activities that define, characterize, develop and document MDS radar OSI M&S capabilities. You will provide architectural framework updates, system-of-system functional and performance requirements, detailed algorithm descriptions, test scenario definition, and use verification approach. You will conduct requirements analysis and bench marking to verify algorithm designs, ensuring system-level performance aligns with operational systems. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience Experience with Radar Systems or other related systems engineering experience to include Model Based System Engineering. Experience with radar signal processing, signal processing theory, and/or signal modeling Experience with MATLAB (including object-oriented programming) and working on LINUX OS platforms.
