Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer and subject matter expert who is passionate about supporting the daily operations and strategic efforts of a Marine Corps acquisition program. They will be working with our talented team engineers, logisticians and program support personnel to design and build the next generation capabilities for the United States Marine Corps Fires community at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience in lieu of a degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience and extensive knowledge of all aspects of the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process.
  • Experience with AFATDS system requirements and specialized knowledge of the operational, technical processes and maintenance requirements of the system.
  • Significant experience with AFATDS Family of Systems (FoS) communications architecture.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently with short-term deadlines.
  • Experience with Ground Fires, Joint Fires and Close Air Support systems, operations and doctrine is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of all project requirements, spend plans and project schedules at the program level and project team level.
  • Advise the project team efforts based on program office priorities to ensure the project team is effectively employing its resources.
  • Support development of acquisition plans that best leverage project team capabilities.
  • Support the complete integrated product team on all engineering, logistics, testing, training and financial efforts.
  • Assist the project team lead with monitoring and reporting performance against plans to meet cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Observe demand signals throughout the Fleet to help the project team evaluate them for inclusion in their product(s), contributing to new concepts, techniques and standards.
  • Provide technical support for AFATDS FoS to include AFATDS and other digital fires C2 systems.
