Description
Join Telavox as an experienced Systems Engineer 💻 We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team and help shape the future of our core compute, storage, and orchestration. This is a role with high potential where your contributions will be key to making our platform scale and enabling application teams to work independently. You'll be a key driver in treating our platform like a product (PaaP) and collaborating on major projects across technologies such as Kubernetes, Ceph/S3, and critical DevEx tooling. If you love solving complex, ambiguous problems and sharing that knowledge across the organization, we want to hear from you. About the job As an experienced Systems Engineer at Telavox, you will be a vital part of our infrastructure team, driving architectural decisions and transforming abstract requirements into robust, automated solutions. You’ll work closely with other senior engineers inside and outside of the team to ultimately deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that support our global communication services. A typical day in this role involves: Improving the long-term design and health of our core infrastructure, ensuring our virtualization, Kubernetes, and storage are all highly reliable, secure, and scalable. Leading the Platform-as-a-Product (PaaP) effort with the team by designing and building the self-service tools and APIs that empower our application teams to work independently. Improving observability for both the Infrastructure team and the rest of Engineering so we can quickly spot issues, figure out what went wrong, and spend less time fighting fires. Being the technical liaison between the Infrastructure team and others—digging into vague problem statements, figuring out the real need, and turning that into a clear plan of action. Continuously sharing your vision and knowledge with the team, seeking and giving feedback freely. You'll also drive organizational success by holding workshops and creating documentation to boost the self-sufficiency of the wider engineering organization. We’re building the team with T-shaped engineers - people with broad competency across the stack who can dive deep and mentor the team in some area(s). We value this specialization, whether it's leaning deeper into tech or being more strategic. Some examples of specialisations (you may tick none or several): Being the go-to person in operating on-prem Kubernetes clusters at scale Designing and running distributed storage like Ceph/S3 Skilled with database architecture & automation Adept at centralized services like load balancing, API gateways or eventing solutions Driven by the Platform-as-a-Product (PaaP) mindset Excelling at Developer Experience (DevEx) leadership Motivated by doing discovery work - translating fuzzy organizational challenges into clear technical roadmaps This role is based at our vibrant new office, Gjuteriet, located in Malmö, where you’ll join a collaborative work environment with opportunities to influence our infrastructure engineering practices. About you To thrive in our team, we believe you have significant experience - typically 7-10+ years of experience in infrastructure or high-impact roles is a good fit. You enjoy working in a technically broad role, have a strong grasp of infrastructure principles, and are dedicated to delivering exceptional results. Core competencies: Demonstrated ability with Linux, Kubernetes, container technologies, and virtualization Proficiency in computing, storage, and networking intricacies Experience in automation and applying software development principles to infrastructure (IaC). Understanding of cloud-native architecture concepts such as microservices, event-driven architecture, and observability Passion for learning, sharing, and engaging in insightful discussions Good-to-have skills: Experience in telecom or voice streaming is a plus Relevant certifications in cloud or infrastructure technologies are a plus, but not mandatory You’ll fit right in with a collaborative mindset, a passion for technology, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
