XMSTART is looking to add an experienced and strategic full-time Senior Systems Engineer to our team, in Chantilly or Fairfax, VA. This is a government on-site position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in full system engineering life cycle; from concept, requirements, design & development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
  • Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
  • Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout system development lifecycle.
  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; readily defines solutions for broad, abstract topics.
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; and comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers.Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders

    DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)* and fifteen (15) years or more experience; or master’s in STEM field and twelve (12) years or more experience. *contract requirement

    • Must be a US Citizen.
    • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
    Responsibilities
    • Provide Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services.
    • Work multiple system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions.
    • Support government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across customer site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
    • Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
    • Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government
    • Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations ; maintenance plans; review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).
    • Represent government’s interests at various forums; provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
    • Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
