Meet the Team
Silicon Labs Systems Team’s mission is to ensure our products have the right features and technologies to win in our target market segments. The team is responsible for generating technical requirements for our products by researching system requirements from the application level to the SoC feature level. Our wireless Systems team investigates the latest wireless technologies and provides requirements for roadmap devices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the wireless systems team in our Espoo office
  • Ensure our products have the right features and technologies to win
  • Drive Silicon Labs technology strategy and long-term roadmap
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Marketing teams (Home and Life, Industrial and Commercial) to prioritize Systems team R&D projects
  • Develop and improve systems team processes
  • Collaborate with other company functions such as design engineering, marketing, applications, and Sales

Minimum Qualifications – technical skills

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager or engineering team lead
  • Professional working experience with embedded solutions, protocols and products, preferably related to Bluetooth, SubGHz, Thread/Zigbee, and/or Wi-Fi
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and semiconductors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Must be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders.
  • Experience using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power analyzers, etc.

Soft skills

  • Flexibility to synchronize with team members located on different global time zones
  • Detailed understanding and hands-on experience in software development lifecycle and methodologies, including traditional Agile and waterfall methods
  • Experience in use of modern project management tools (Confluence, Jira, Portfolio Manager, MS Project, etc.)
  • Experience leading the interviewing and hiring of new full-time engineers
  • Experience working within a global organization
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in different locations.

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Experience working at a semiconductor company
  • Basic understanding of hardware IP architecture, development and verification
  • Radio firmware experience at the PHY / MAC layers
  • Experience in Bluetooth Low Energy Audio
  • Additional knowledge of some IoT or other communication protocol stacks like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, or Wi-Sun
  • Experience with one or more RTOS – Free RTOS, uc/OS, Zephyr preferred
  • Experience managing team of experienced engineers.
