Description
Description We are seeking a Child Care Automated Tracking System (CCATS) Senior Systems Lead to serve as a builder-operator for our administrative infrastructure. This role evolves from a traditional support position which included daily manned tasks and the manual update of .jar and .ear files into a strategic systems role focused on modernization. Initially, you will lead an optimization phase by auditing the CCATS system to identify data gaps, implementing automated reporting and actions, and updating or replacing outdated software. Once these systems are refined, you will provide active, ongoing operator-level support to maintain system integrity while assisting with the review of other internal platforms. Due to the dynamic nature of our department, this role requires a process-driven professional who can manage core tracking systems while maintaining the flexibility to handle general administrative tasks and unexpected projects as they arise. Requirements Qualifications · Demonstrated experience in system auditing, workflow automation, or technical operations. · Familiarity with data integration platforms, secure file transfer systems, and legacy software components. · Ability to manually deploy/update technical components (.jar, .ear files) and support complex system environments. · Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with the ability to shift quickly between technical and administrative tasks. · Effective communicator capable of translating technical findings into clear recommendations and documentation. · Adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Primary Responsibilities Section I: CCATS Operations & Modernization (50%) This portion of the role is strictly dedicated to the management, maintenance, and modernization of the CCATS infrastructure. · Lead a comprehensive audit of CCATS to identify data gaps, system inefficiencies, and modernization opportunities. · Design and implement automated, event-based workflows (e.g., triggered actions, automation tools like Informatica or similar platforms). · Maintain legacy technical components, including manual updates of .jar and .ear files, ensuring uninterrupted system operation. · Modernize outdated software components and proactively identify opportunities for system improvements. · Conduct routine health checks, security hardening, and integrity assessments to maintain 99.9% system availability. · Provide continuous operator-level support following optimization efforts. Section II: MSDE-Wide Expansion & Operations (50%) Note: You will provide support and assistance for the following MSDE-wide tasks. · Agency-Wide Infrastructure Monitoring: Assist in the configuration, review, and monitoring of AWS Workspaces and server configurations across the MSDE environment. · Standardization & Auditing: Support general agency-wide auditing of MSDE standards, helping to ensure adherence across architecture, compliance, configuration, documentation, standard practices, and procedures. · Documentation & Compliance: Assist in creating and reviewing documentation for non-CCATS internal MSDE applications. Help compile Incident Response (IR), Business Continuity (BC), and Disaster Recovery (DR) data to meet security requirements. · Vendor & Platform Coordination: Assist with collection reviews and follow up with application vendors to clarify requests and documentation. Support audits and modernization efforts for other internal systems and software platforms. · Process Optimization: Apply process-improvement logic to streamline workflows, SOPs, and standard operating procedures across the organization. Support departmental projects to ensure consistent operational efficiency and team productivity. · Adaptive Support: Perform general administrative tasks and assist with a wide range of emergent operational needs. Respond quickly to high-priority interruptions and ad-hoc projects outside the regular CCATS workflow.
