JOB SUMMARY

This role is a critical part of the reporting team within the Finance, Performance, Risk and Assurance Directorate. The Senior Systems Manager – Reporting role will be responsible for:

  • The development and support of real time and analytical reporting from our Money and People Service (MaPS) system, providing reporting expertise across our implementation of Oracle Fusion cloud applications.
  • Designing and developing Dashboards/ Analytics and Insights, working closely with the Finance, Performance, Risk and Assurance teams to ensure new reports and releases are communicated to end users, training is provided where appropriate and materials updated
  • Managing incidents and service requests related to MaPS reporting, directly or through our 3rd party support partner, providing oversight to the implementation of changes with minimal adverse impact to the business and end users.
  • Ensure a high quality of service is provided to the business measured by key performance SLAs and will seek to drive and improve customer satisfaction across the end users and customer community

  • Analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To manage the development and support of Financial and Workforce reporting including Oracle Cloud (MaPS) system including Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence(OTBI/BIP) and Fusion Analytics Warehouse(FAW)/Oracle Analytics Cloud(OAC) and all associated reports and processes.
  • Developing visualisations to simplify complex information and highlight specific areas requiring attention or investigation.
  • Manage a range of data sources to be presented as integrated reports within Oracle
  • Analytics and associated interfaces and processes.
  • Management and development of custom data repository and ETL processes
  • Reconciling data and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of reports.
  • Ensure Business continuity of the reporting solutions by reviewing Oracle patch/upgrade documentation and taking appropriate actions
  • Oversee team priorities and resourcing to ensure the effective delivery of the reporting solutions.
  • Use insights from stakeholder engagement and data to effectively manage and improve the performance of the reporting solutions
  • Provide expert advice regarding the reporting solutions to stakeholders within the organisation and across government. Capture and document all requirements/solutions in functional/technical specifications.
  • Adhere to team change management & deployment processes and best practices
  • Assist with Audit activities and regular maintenance
  • Document all activities and mentor junior members of the team to carry out regular maintenance activities

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL ROLE CRITERIA:

  • Qualified (or working towards) CCAB, CIMA or equivalent/CIPD qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience in Financial and/or Supply Chain and/or Human Resources reporting
  • Extensive experience of Oracle Fusion Cloud applications or similar ERP and/or HR systems
  • Proven experience of developing reports on Oracle Cloud Reporting tools (e.g., OTBI/BIP/OAC/FDI)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of managing change through the product delivery life cycle
  • Demonstrable ability to engage and communicate technical concepts and complex issues with key stakeholders at an operational and strategic level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE ROLE CRITERIA:

  • SQL Knowledge
  • Data Warehousing knowledge/experience (Managing custom ETLs, catalogue Management etc)
  • Experience of working on Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), ITIL Service Management, Agile Project Management and Lean Six Sigma
  • Line Manager experience
  • Managing Successful Programmes at either Foundation or ideally Practitioner level PRINCE2 at either Foundation or ideally Practitioner Level
