Required Qualifications, US:

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer supporting Virtual Hosting Services.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical expertise to support and maintain our virtual hosting infrastructure.
  • Core focus will be on VMware product suite (vRealize, vRA, vROPs)
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues with physical servers in remote datacenters.
  • Support of Windows, Linux, VDI, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Participate in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures based on business need.
  • Work with Business, Engineering and Monitoring partners for alert and incident management.
  • Lead break fix service restoration including problem diagnosis, troubleshooting repair and resolution.
  • Candidate will also be expected to provide guidance and leadership to technical system support initiatives including management of chronic incidents resulting in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

Job Expectations:

  • Candidate will also be expected to provide guidance and leadership to technical system support initiatives including management of chronic incidents resulting in Root Cause Analysis and Preventative Actions.
  • Manage work in Service Now tool.
  • Monitor health of large VMware hosting environment.
  • Maintain, Patch, and support enterprise servers and multiple VMware clusters.
  • Monitor and track capacity across system.
  • This position will interact with team members across various Enterprise organizations as well as interact with leadership to provide technical input and make recommendations.
  • Many of the decisions that the senior leadership team will make will be directly tied to the input that this position provides as it relates to the virtualization platform direction and strategies.
  • Technical expertise over virtualization components.
  • Directing process definition and standardization for virtualization infrastructure products
  • Maintain audit, risk and compliance requirements across enterprise virtualization platform, to identify said risks and to remediate vulnerabilities and gaps.
  • Responsible for event scheduling and operational analytics supporting the execution of maintenance activities within the team.
  • Vendor engagement
  • Standards and Policy definition within the department.
