The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing Tableau dashboards and visualizations, adhering to best practices, and managing Tableau infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. You’ll Get To::

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business intelligence and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand requirements and transform data into meaningful insights.
  • Apply Tableau best practices for visualization, data organization, and user experience to ensure dashboards are intuitive, performant, and scalable.
  • Optimize Tableau dashboards and queries for performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experience.
  • Provide guidance on the creation and maintenance of Tableau workbooks, stories, and calculated fields.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau dashboards, data connections, and performance.
  • Manage Tableau Server/Online infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of the platform.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and troubleshooting of Tableau Server to ensure optimal performance, including capacity planning and system tuning.
  • Perform upgrades and patch management for Tableau Server environments and ensure seamless deployment processes.
  • Automate tasks such as data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Tableau Prep or other relevant tools.
  • Maintain data security and access control policies, ensuring sensitive data is protected.
  • Work closely with IT teams to manage Tableau Server environments and ensure integration with other data platforms (e.g., databases, cloud platforms).
  • Document Tableau development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Train and mentor junior Tableau developers and business users to improve their Tableau skills and overall adoption of BI solutions.

What You’ll Bring::

  • 5 + years’ experience SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2019, MySQL or PL/SQL
  • 3 or more years working in high-transaction environments is required
  • Advanced working knowledge of different index types and how they are used: columnstore, full-text, filtered, indexes with include columns
  • Advanced Execution Plan understanding
  • SSIS/SSRS experience is a strong plus
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques, including complex queries as well as procedure and indexing strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Adaptable team-player with a focus on results and value delivery
  • Able to organize and plan work independently
  • Lead various technology POCs
  • Advance understanding of OLTP vs OLAP environments
  • Working knowledge of relational database internals (locking, consistency, serialization, recovery paths)

  • Any experience with Tableau Server to Tableau Online Migration.
  • Any experience with Tableau Pulse – design and deployment.
  • Any experience with Tableau Prep pipeline development and management.
  • Any experience with ETL tools like Matilion or any other similar tools.
  • Tableau Certification (Desktop Specialist, Desktop Certified Professional, Server Certified Associate, etc.).
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and visualization.
  • Familiarity with other BI tools like Power BI, QlikView, or Looker.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell for automating Tableau tasks.
