The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Talent Partner to provide a critical role within People, Safety, Culture and Communications.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • A qualification in Human Resources / Management or an equivalent would be highly regarded, although not essential.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Talent Partner works closely with stakeholders to understand their business and what is required for current and future success. The Senior Talent Partner provides expert advice and support across all talent related activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice. Additionally, demonstrated capability in the design, implementation and training of best practice recruitment processes is required.
The Senior Talent Partner supports the business in end-to-end recruitment delivery with workloads spread evenly across the team. It is expected that Talent Partners hold current and detailed knowledge of the labour market, the economy and political landscape for the department and demonstrate a breadth of Human Resource capability.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide high-level expertise in working collaboratively with business areas to identify, develop and implement innovative solutions that support departmental strategy across a range of recruitment services.
  • Provide authoritative, strategic and innovative advice to senior management on recruitment issues and practices in accordance with all relevant industrial instruments and legislation, particularly the Public Administration Act 2004 and the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.
  • Provide specialist case management support and advice to surplus employees, their managers and HR Practitioners across the department, including negotiation on behalf of the department with employee representatives and other VPS agencies.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the labour market including current and emerging economic, social, and political levers for labour trends on a local, regional and global basis.
  • Subject matter knowledge and professional experience in designing, implementing, and coordinating various recruitment selection tools and methodologies (e.g. end-to-end recruitment, executive recruitment)
