Advantage Accounting is currently seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. We are looking for a professional with a CPA designation and strong experience in T1 personal tax returns, ideally including cross-border and U.S. tax filing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation is required
  • 5–6 years of accounting experience in a public accounting firm
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing T1 personal tax returns, including for cross-border and U.S. taxpayers
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and filing requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review T1 personal income tax returns, including high-net-worth individuals, professionals, and self-employed clients
  • Manage cross-border and U.S. personal tax filings (1040, 1040NR, FBAR, etc.)
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in implementing tax strategies
  • Liaise with clients and tax authorities regarding tax matters and inquiries
  • Mentor and support junior tax staff during peak seasons
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Canadian and U.S. tax laws
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
