SENIOR TAX ANALYST:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Tax Analyst for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

SENIOR TAX ANALYST - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Tax Analyst will play a crucial role in enhancing our tax software by identifying and updating tax calculations and forms. This position involves collaborating with engineers to develop detailed specifications and working with tax authorities to certify our products. The role also includes improving software features and supporting customer service efforts.

SENIOR TAX ANALYST - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience preparing and/or reviewing federal and provincial tax returns, such as T1
  • Strong background in tax research and analysis and a deep understanding of Canadian tax law
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex tax issues in non-technical language for consumption inside and outside of the organization
  • Comprehensive understanding and use of tax preparation software (experience using TurboTax, WealthSimple Tax, TaxCycle, TaxPrep, or ProFile is an asset)

SENIOR TAX ANALYST – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Experience in software development or engineering environments
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience in customer service or client-facing roles
  • Familiarity with operational process documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Responsibilities
  • Identify, analyze, and accurately update tax calculations and forms within the software by creating detailed specifications for engineers
  • Test tax calculations, user experience, and form display changes within the software
  • Apply tax, accounting, and business knowledge to develop and improve new software features
  • Work with federal and provincial tax authorities to certify our tax products
  • Participate in the development and documentation of key operational processes, checklists, and product specifications
  • Work with customer support representatives to resolve customer issues and deal directly with clients, as needed
  • Effectively prioritize individual and team work to ensure delivery of product features with the highest quality and customer value
