Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION::

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will support the tax team with various tasks and responsibilities including strategic tax planning, preparing tax returns, and building and maintaining strong client relationships. You will also conduct tax research and ensure that all tax filings are accurate, in compliance and delivered in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES::

  • Collaborate with the tax team to assist with tax planning strategies and support for clients.
  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts and occasional partnerships, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct research on complex tax matters, providing recommendations for clients’ tax strategies while ensuring compliance with relevant tax legislation and regulations.
  • Prepare capital dividend elections.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation changes and ensure proper implementation in client work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering personalized service and proactive communication.
  • Correspond with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding pre-assessment reviews, notices of assessment, and post-assessment reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports as needed.
  • Participate in the development of internal tax training to improve team capabilities.
