Description
Seaboard Corporation, a Fortune 500 diversified and vertically integrated agribusiness and ocean transportation company, currently has an opening for a SR Tax Analyst. As a SR Tax Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in Seaboard’s U.S. tax compliance, provision, and planning. This position is located in Merriam, Kansas.   The SR Tax Analyst will work as part of our team responsible for U.S. federal and state tax compliance, audits, and provisions (ASC 740), as well as tax modeling and planning. The role is both U.S. domestic and U.S. international federal tax compliance, provision, and planning. This position reports to the Tax Manager.   This role will have involvement in communication with Treasury, Finance, Legal, Accounting, and other leaders in Seaboard’s global operations.   PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support U.S. Federal and state and local tax compliance, including preparing returns for both Corporations and Partnerships in house. * Support U.S. International tax compliance, including preparing forms 5471/8858/8865. * Prepare computations and analysis to support the company’s quarterly and annual financial tax provisions. * Review quarterly and year-end ASC 740 financial reporting schedules, reconcile and review deferred tax schedules. * Assist with research of tax technical issues as they arise in the ordinary course of business or are identified during the development of tax planning alternatives and perform other tax research as needed. * Prepare local country tax filings and statutory compliance for a select number of foreign entities. * Assist in gathering supporting documentation in response to the inquiries from external auditors during financial audits. * Respond to U.S. Federal and state and local tax notices by written correspondence or by phone. * Fixed Asset Depreciation: for multiple companies, review and correct fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers. * Supervise analyst and/or intern staff, assign tasks and review work completed. * Assist in transaction planning and structure for new investments, including due diligence procedures. * Assist with special projects as needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * A minimum of three (3) years in a Big 4 / U.S. multinational corporation tax environment. * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. * Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills. * Demonstrable problem-solving capability, quantitative and analytical skills. * Self-starter with strong desire to learn, ability to multi-task and focus on details. Preferred Skills: * CorpTax compliance software experience or ability to learn. * Experience with tax data automation. * Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or foreign equivalent. * Master of Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. * Exposure tax provision requirements under US GAAP ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48). * Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word - some familiarity with Power Point. * Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a drive to deliver outstanding results with a positive attitude towards work and challenge Seaboard Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
