Senior Tax Associate – Trust, Estate & Gift Anticipated Start Date: Q2 2026 Location: Raleigh, North Carolina; Wilmington, North Carolina; Durham, North Carolina; Cedar Point, North Carolina – Hybrid work model available (candidates must be able to work onsite at a TJT office at least three days per week) TJT is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Associate to join our dynamic trust, estate, and gift tax team in a full-time capacity. In this essential role, you will leverage your extensive experience in trust, estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax return preparation to deliver exceptional service to high-net-worth individuals and family groups. As a Senior Associate, you will operate as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with firm leadership and clients to drive success and contribute to TJT’s continued growth and reputation for excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: A minimum of two years of public accounting experience, with a strong concentration in trust, estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax return preparation. Significant experience preparing and reviewing individual income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and families, in addition to similar fiduciary returns. Proficiency with CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement trial balance software. Excellent communication skills for building and maintaining strong client relationships. Proven ability to advise clients in the private client sector, particularly those with complex financial needs. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, or active pursuit of CPA licensure. Advanced technical tax expertise and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, including the interpretation of complex financial statements. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review trust, estate, gift, fiduciary, and individual income tax returns for high-net-worth clients and families. Collaborate with firm leadership and peers to address complex tax issues and deliver client-focused solutions. Stay current with evolving tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes for clients. Provide expert guidance and strategic advice to clients regarding trust, estate, and gift tax matters. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and mentor junior staff as needed.
