ABOUT US:

Thorne Widgery is an ambitious and forward-thinking accountancy firm with a strong focus on helping our clients grow and thrive. We’re proud to blend the best of traditional accountancy with innovative thinking, tech-savvy solutions, and a people-first approach. We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our expanding team and play a pivotal role in delivering expert tax advice and driving client success.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As a Tax Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of business owners and high-net-worth individuals, delivering strategic tax advice across income tax, capital gains, inheritance tax, corporate tax, and structuring. You’ll also support junior team members and oversee tax operations, including reviewing returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance, and providing tax planning to minimise liabilities. We’re looking for a proactive individual with strong tax advisory experience, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of tax clients, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Provide high-quality tax planning and advisory services, including income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, business structuring, exit planning, and remuneration strategies
  • Lead or support in delivering complex tax projects and client meetings to discuss tax planning needs
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals and businesses across all relevant taxes
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering a high standard of service
  • Mentor and support team members, including tax trainees and accounts staff
  • Maintain accurate, organised tax records and documentation
  • Stay up to date with changing tax legislation and share knowledge across the firm
  • Review tax and compliance work as needed to ensure accuracy and high standards
