Liberty Tax Service  Job Title: Senior Tax Support Advisor                                                                                                    Department/Business Unit: Tax Support      Reports to: Internal Tax Support Manager                                                                                          Status: Seasonal FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Tax Support Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Tax Support Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing advanced tax support and guidance to internal teams and external clients. Your extensive expertise in tax laws and regulations, combined with your strong analytical skills, will enable you to resolve complex tax issues and optimize tax strategies. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in tax support, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities/Duties * Serve as a key resource for complex tax-related inquiries, offering expert tax advice and guidance to internal teams and external clients. * Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of intricate tax matters, including complex transactions, legislative changes, and regulatory updates, to ensure accurate and up-to-date tax guidance. * Conducting thorough research to ensure the accuracy and relevance of tax content in educational materials. * Tax preparation and tax return reviews as needed, both entity and individual returns. * Staying updated on emerging trends, regulations, and industry developments in tax education and incorporating relevant information into the materials. * Providing guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their professional development and knowledge in tax education.  * Adhere to the policies as documented in the Internal Process Manual. * Updating existing tax education materials to meet established deadlines, ensuring they are accurate, comprehensive, and up to date. * Collaborating with the tax education team to identify areas for improvement and develop new tax training materials when necessary. * Ability to de-escalate and work patiently in all interactions, both internally & externally. * Participation in various department projects, trainings, and team meetings. Qualifications  * Willingness to commit to becoming an Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)  * Experience in preparing or reviewing federal and state individual tax returns (Form 1040) and business entity tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 990, or 1041). * Proficiency in tax software, financial analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications. * Deep knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including expertise in complex tax scenarios and advanced tax planning strategies. * Understanding and experience with basic accounting principles. * Must be available to work nights and weekends as scheduled. * Multi-tasking and time management are necessary skills. Education and Experience * Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification. * Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. * Experience in preparing or reviewing federal and state individual tax returns (Form 1040) and business entity tax returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 990 or 1041). * Must be available to work nights and weekends as requested. * Ability to effectively deliver tax-related instructions and training. * Proficiency in tax software and other relevant tools commonly used in the tax industry.  Physical Requirements The position involves working primarily at a desk, requiring extended periods of time sitting and performing tasks on a computer or workstation. The use of a communication device, such as a headset, may be necessary for up to eight hours during the workday to engage in effective communication with clients and colleagues. Cameras are required for team meetings.   Work Environment  This position will require the employee to work at one of our Corporate offices in Hurst, TX or Virginia Beach, VA or remote.
