__________ FACULTY OF MEDICINE, DUNEDIN | TE KAUPEKA WHAIORA, ŌTEPOTI DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS, GYNAECOLOGY AND WOMEN’S HEALTH | ORANGA WAHINE Mō te tīma | About our team The Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women’s Health (Dunedin) is one of three departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Otago’s Medical School, working alongside our counterparts in Christchurch and Wellington. We are guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi and dedicated to improving health outcomes in Aotearoa. Te mahi | The role We are seeking two qualified healthcare professionals who would support the Obstetrics & Gynaecology undergraduate teaching team at the Dunedin School of Medicine, with a focus on facilitating learning for 5th year medical students and final year medical students and supporting the postgraduate teaching program. Kā pūkeka me kā wheako | Skills and experience We are looking for someone who has a healthcare professional qualification with experience in women’s health. You will have strong initiative and be able to work independently with the goals of the department in mind. Other key skills include: • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work positively and productively with obstetrics and gynaecology patients and their whānau. • Be culturally competent and have an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and a commitment to equity within medical education and the wider health system. • Evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds at all levels of the institution. Pūroko | Further details We have one, part time (0.5 FTE), fixed term (April 2026 to April 2027) Teaching Fellow or Senior Teaching Fellow position. We also have a part time (0.5 FTE), fixed term (February 2027 to April 2028) Senior Teaching Fellow position. Both positions are based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin. Please indicate your preference on position in your cover letter. The appointment range for these roles are $75,727 to $137,444 (pro rata). The successful candidate will be appointed to an appropriate step on the Professional Practice Fellow scale based on qualifications, skills and experience.
