Senior Teaching Fellow DUNEDIN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE | TE KURA WHAIORA A ŌTEPOTI DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS, GYNAECOLOGY AND WOMEN’S HEALTH | ORANGA WAHINE Mō te tīma/About our team The Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women’s Health (Dunedin) is one of three departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Otago’s Medical School, working alongside our counterparts in Christchurch and Wellington. We are guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi and dedicated to improving health outcomes in Aotearoa. Te mahi/The role In this Dunedin based role, we are seeking a qualified healthcare professional who would support the Obstetrics & Gynaecology undergraduate teaching team at the Dunedin School of Medicine, with a focus on facilitating learning for 5th year medical students and final year medical students. Kā pūkeka me kā wheako/Skills and experience Successful candidates will have: · A healthcare professional qualification · Experience in women's health. · Aptitude for effective teaching at tertiary level. · Must be able to take initiative and work independently but being always mindful of goals of the Department. · Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work positively and productively with obstetrics and gynaecology patients and their whānau. · Be culturally competent and have an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and a commitment to equity within medical education and the wider health system. · Evidence of an ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds at all levels of the institution.
