The Countywide Diabetes Multi – Disciplinary Team (MDT) promotes care closer to home, facilitating a seamless service between acute and primary care and avoiding acute hospital admissions and accelerating safe discharge. The delivery of high quality care, efficiently and cost effectively, in accordance with the Northamptonshire Diabetes Care Pathway. The focus will be on enabling people with diabetes to remain healthy by working collaboratively to promote self-management and avoid acute and long-term complications of diabetes.
To enable the service to operate efficiently and transform to meet ever evolving expectations in diabetes care and its administrative management, confidence to use and develop skill in technology and e-systems is essential. It is therefore expected that the successful candidate will undertake an administration & management or data management apprenticeship depending on training needs identified at the end of the 6 month probation period.
Applicants must have proven experience of working within a very busy office environment and be able to evidence how they manage workloads and deadlines. They must have proven experience of all Office applications including Outlook and Excel. They must be able to demonstrate their adaptability and willingness to learn new tasks and work within a very busy team/office environment.
Office base will be decided with the successful candidate but with the expectation to travel across the county when needed.

Working with colleagues be responsible for the day to day management of referrals and patient registration. Coordinate triage with clinical colleagues. Take shared responsibility for the administration of patient and staff education programmes. To do this the successful candidate will need to have / develop;
Excellent administration skills that enables multi tasking to manage the varied demands of the service
Excellent communication skills to enable clear and concise communication with patients and stakeholders - verbally and written
Experience of working in a busy office environment and managing competing demands and deadlines
Ability to work autonomously and alone
Experience of using office applications and clinical / public service systems
Confidence to manage and be curious about technology
Essentially be keen to learn and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively and efficiently manage the administration of the service as it transforms over time and within a changing NHS environment
