Job title: Senior Team Lead – Detail Design

Salary: Up to £58,540 (dependent on skills and experience)

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential:

• In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the relevant Sub Discipline within Detail Design in the Marine Engineering or similar industry sector
• Experience in the design, build, integration, support and operation of sub-discipline within the Foran CAD tool or equivalent in a 3D environment
• Experience in more than one phase of LCM, with sufficient experience of total LCM to enable awareness of adjacent phases / through life engineering issues

Desirable:

• Developing skills and experience in Engineering Management, Leadership Project Management, Risk Management, Budget Management, Commercial Awareness
• Working IEng status or working towards CEng status (UK)

• As a Senior Team Lead within the RCD Detail Design Team, your main responsibilities will include:
• Providing specialist engineering expertise to organise and co-ordinate the Mechanical, Structural, Electrical or Outfit Discipline with the Detail Design Engineering Team to ensure defined delivery objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and cost.
• Line management and accountability of a team of Detail Designers for the delivery of a complex scope of work across a stage of the engineering lifecycle, this includes management and accountability for several technical teams across sites where required, including subordinate Technical and Team Lead Detail Designers and Senior Detail Designers.
• Liaising closely with the Programme Management Professionals on time, cost and schedule delivery performance status; and the Sub-Discipline Technical Specialist Team on technical performance and Quality; while supporting the development of the Detail Design resources, for your discipline, in line with Detail Design Capability Strategy.
• Making informed decisions based on policies, procedures and delivery plans to ensure task completion; coordination of work activities taking into consideration wider delivery inputs and outputs
