Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior Embedded Development Team Lead, your key area of responsibility will be managing the ongoing design and development of the RTOS-based IOX platform, and leading the team responsible for designing and developing the next generation of RTOS based IOXs. You will also be responsible for enforcing coding standards and performing peer code reviews. You will need to work closely with colleagues within the Automotive department, as well as with Solutions Engineering, Software Development, and key leadership stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • 6+ years of proven experience in embedded development using C, C++, etc.
  • 3+ years of relevant people management experience/people leadership.
  • Post-secondary degree specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure and/or experience with RTOS and Linux.
  • Experience with SCRUM and Agile development practices is highly valued.
  • Experience using Python, Rust, SQL, and/or Google BigQuery highly valued.
  • Experience with IoT devices, sensors, wireless communication, and data transport protocols (USB, NFC, BLE, CAN) is highly valued.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
  • Leadership experience in a team-oriented workplace.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
