We’re on the lookout for a Senior Technical Applications Specialist to play a key role in the support, optimisation and continuous improvement of our clinical and care application systems. This is a senior, hands‑on technical role where your expertise will directly support clinicians, care teams and the people who rely on our services every day. Working closely with stakeholders across Digital & Technology, clinical teams and external vendors, you’ll provide specialist advice, troubleshoot complex application issues and help ensure our clinical systems remain reliable, efficient and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities Provide senior‑level technical leadership and support for clinical and care applications. Coordinate work across teams to ensure efficient, business‑aligned support processes. Lead and facilitate activities that support the effective and efficient use of clinical applications. Troubleshoot application issues and incidents in consultation with clinical users and vendors. Manage the MyService Desk queue for assigned applications, ensuring tickets are resolved within agreed SLAs. Collaborate with vendors on investigations, fixes and system enhancements as required. Participate in governance, technical change control and application lifecycle activities. Support system configuration, maintenance, upgrades, testing and deployments. Contribute to systems, integration and user acceptance testing. Develop and maintain procedures, guidelines and technical documentation. Analyse application data and workflows to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement. Support business continuity planning and champion improvements with stakeholders. Participate in end‑user education and adoption activities. Participate in an on‑call roster and travel to sites when required. What you will bring: Demonstrated experience supporting clinical or care applications in a complex environment. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in application support, incident management and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of clinical workflows and how technology supports healthcare delivery. Experience with clinical systems such as EMRs, care systems, integration engines (e.g. HL7), biomedical device interfaces or messaging systems (highly desirable). Proven ability to analyse complex problems, perform root cause analysis and implement practical solutions. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships. A collaborative mindset with the confidence to provide specialist technical advice.
