TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST - CYBER SECURITY / INFORMATION SECURITY

On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Business Analyst for an 5-month contract role. This position is hybrid (3 days onsite) at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST – JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Technical Business Analyst (Cyber Security) will act as a strategic liaison between internal stakeholders, vendors and IT teams. This role will focus on defining requirements, data analysis, guiding the development of solutions, and identifying opportunities for improvement. You will work closely with the Enterprise Security team to help driving complex projects, deliver outcomes, and enhancing Cyber Security systems.

Technical Business Analyst – Responsibilities

  • Facilitate working sessions and meetings to gather requirements, monitor progress, move roadblocks, and identify risks.
  • Prioritize business requirements and user stories in alignment with key milestones and overall project timeline.
  • Lead the analysis of existing processes, and ability to visualize the process through workflows.
  • Assist with testing new systems and processes to validate that business requirements are fulfilled.
  • Work with vendors to ensure solutions are meeting OTPP requirements with expected quality expectations.
  • Oversee the defect management cycle, develop solutions and mitigation strategies where requirements are impacted.
  • Provide cybersecurity advisory and consulting services to development and operations teams, ensuring that security requirements and best practices are embedded in the design, development, and delivery of software products and services.
  • Research and evaluate emerging security trends, threats, and technologies, and provide recommendations and insights on how to enhance current practices.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and represent the Enterprise Security, Technology Risk & Cyber Security Program teams on various working groups.
  • You will be expected to demonstrate strong cyber security and business analysis leadership, collaboration, coaching, and innovation in your role, while upholding the organization’s values of being performance-driven, inclusive, agile, curious, and courageous.
  • Responsible for making recommendations related to the organization’s cyber security practices within the governance, and program delivery practices, based on your expertise, judgment, and analysis of relevant cyber security good practices. You will also be responsible for escalating and communicating significant security risks and issues to senior management and relevant stakeholders, as well as providing recommendations and solutions to address them.

Technical Business Analyst – Mandatory Skills

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in Business Analysis type roles.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of project and program management practices, along with experience in agile methodology.
  • Facilitate the requirements gathering process by assessing and analyzing needs from a range of stakeholders, including executive leadership, IT departments, and other end users.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing and future business processes, identifying areas for improvement while aligning them with industry’s best practices.
  • Experienced in implementing/enhancing applications and tools including IAM, SIEM, SASE, ServiceNow solutions using JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Proven experience in facilitating delivery of complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product teams, testers business stakeholders, and other team members.
  • Agility in adapting to new challenges, tools, and methodologies.
  • Cyber security or information security experience in the financial services industry.

Technical Business Analyst – Nice to Have Skills

  • Past experience for cloud migration is highly valued
  • Professional certification(s) in Business Analysis/Process (e.g. CBAP, CBPP) and Agile Methodologies is considered an asset
