Autobiz is an established automotive B2B company with over 40 years’ experience serving Ireland’s automotive aftermarket. A key focus of the business is FindaPart, our service supporting Irish vehicle dismantlers, where we have developed an ERP. From our Barna office, we develop practical software solutions for this sector and are currently developing a B2B Marketplace for recycled parts, along with the upgrading of existing digital infrastructure and software management solutions for Irish Dismantlers.

Role Description The Senior Technical Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Barna, Co Galway.

This is very much a hands-on position: leading the front-end architecture of a B2B Marketplace and modernising our existing digital infrastructure.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, to solve diverse problems.

Qualifications

• Generalist Seniority: 5+ years of full-stack development, software engineering, or technical leadership experience with a proven ability to adapt to new fields quickly.
• AI Mastery: Highly proficient in using AI-assisted coding tools to maximize productivity and rapidly solve complex problems.
• Core Technology: Expert knowledge of PHP (Laravel), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (jQuery), and JSON.
• Database Logic: Strong working knowledge of MariaDB and general SQL infrastructure.
• Industry Advantage: A basic knowledge or working understanding of car parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Technology Leadership: Act as the primary technical anchor for Autobiz.
• Core Web Development: Direct our front-end marketplace delivery. Ensure high visual fidelity and brand consistency across our main platform and our portfolio of 50+ vendor sites.
• AI-Proficient Workflows: Proactively use AI coding and design tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, v0) to maximize personal output, troubleshoot unfamiliar stacks, and solve wide-ranging, technical challenges.
• Data Integration & MariaDB: Manage and oversee database infrastructure using MariaDB on SQL, resolving complex data relationships as we connect with external platforms.
• Engineering Liaison: Act as the lead coordinator for our internal distributed engineering team.
• Operational Flexibility: As a small company, unexpected issues arise. You should be happy to adapt your focus as needed, which will occasionally include local onsite visits to assist with technical integrations.
• Future Roadmap: Structure current web builds via clean APIs to ensure they are "mobile-ready" for a future mobile application phase, which you will eventually help oversee and integrate.
