ABOUT THE PERSON

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional with strong technical and administrative skills to lead the daily operations of our anatomy laboratories. With a proactive approach to compliance, team leadership, and continuous improvement you’ll thrive working both independently and collaboratively.

Key attributes include:

  • A qualification in health sciences, biomedical science, anatomy, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on experience in the preparation, handling, and prosection of human anatomical specimens, with a commitment to ethical and respectful practices
  • A sound understanding of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks, including the Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1979 (Qld) and WHS protocols
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring technical staff and coordinating day-to-day laboratory operations
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively across academic and professional teams

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate technical staff in the delivery of anatomy laboratory services.
  • Apply technical expertise to effectively operationalise new anatomy laboratories
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1979 (Qld) and WHS regulations.
  • Liaise with academic staff, to coordinate practical class preparation and contribute to the revision and enhancement of anatomy curriculum delivery
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and specimen handling.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture, operational efficiency, skills development, and continuous improvement principles
