Description
Applications are invited for the above position in Generation Engineering Department. Reporting to the Team Leader of Workshop Team, successful candidate will be assigned to lead team staffs and contractors in daily operations and making appropriate decisions for maintain the availability and services of lifting appliances and lifting gears within GBG Power Stations.  Major duties include: •    Establish and implement the annual program on statutory inspection and survey of lifting appliance and lifting gear; •    Lead, monitoring, supervise subordinates and contractors to carry out inspection and maintenance of lifting appliance and lifting gears, and be accountable for the safety and quality execution of works at sites; •    Liaise and communicate with relevant stakeholders on lifting appliance and lifting gear subject matters; •    Prepare budgets, procure essential spares, monitor capital, operating and manpower expenses to meet performance targets under his / her responsibility; •    Monitor assigned activities of maintenance / project / refurbishment works to ensure they are conducted according to schedule, budget, design and relevant codes of practice; •    Analyze and diagnose lifting appliance equipment fault and defects. Troubleshoot complex problems and provide technical expertise; •    Prepare, review and update documentation and reports; •    Recommend changes to maintenance practices to improve work efficiency, safety standards and cost effectiveness. Requirements: •    Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering plus 5 years’ relevant experience; OR  •    Ordinary Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engineering plus 8 years’ relevant experience. Candidates possess lesser academic qualification but with extensive relevant working experience will also be considered; •    Solid experience in engineering, maintenance, commissioning or installation of heavy mechanical equipment or facilities;  •    Past exposures in power plant lifting appliance, lifting gear work experience and contractor management will be an advantage; •    Familiar with Safety, Health and Environment related regulations and ordinances and possess good safety awareness; •    A good team player with strong analytical skill and self-initiative; •    Good communication and supervisory skills.
