  • Degree or work experience in a utilities field and /or land use and infrastructure planning (preference for planners, architects, or civil engineers).
  • Ideally, experience in the field of infrastructure policy/projects and familiarity with the GLA’s priorities/initiatives in this space.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The ICS is looking for to appoint a Senior Technical Officer to deliver projects and programmes that respond to the Mayor’s priorities for water supply, wastewater and flood risk, including recommendations outlined in the London Climate Resilience Review.
The role is focused on convening partners to deliver long term infrastructure plans for the water sector, including integrated water management strategies and progressing wider climate resilience and growth priorities, working with stakeholders such as Environment Agency, Thames Water and London boroughs. In addition, the role will support policy development for the London Plan and contribute towards the London Infrastructure Framework, which are both in development currently.
The ideal candidate will have expertise or experience in the utilities sector, engineering, infrastructure policy and/or land use planning, and be motivated to work with stakeholders to deliver outcomes for London. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a problem-solving mindset and enjoy applying analytical and creative thinking skills to address blockers and challenge the status quo. A big part of the role is focused on translating technical outputs for non-technical audiences.
