SCOPE OF WORK:
Capio Group is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Specialist/Database Administrator with proficiency in Oracle database versions to provide technical support for over 400 databases housing critical data for enterprise applications, such as, PeopleSoft, Business Intelligence and Actuarial Valuation System with a specific focus on the Business Intelligence (BI) application database to troubleshoot, develop and enhance further on its functionality. This role involves performing a range of work from moderate to highly complex, time sensitive, and critical for the database environments. The Senior Technical Specialist/Database Administrator will also act as a subject matter expert (SME) for new database technology research, on-prem and cloud-based database infrastructure, database migrations, database disk cloning and automation, backup process improvements, Disaster Recovery, advanced programming, and scripting to automate processes and leverage advanced technologies.
The Senior Technical Specialist/Database Administrator will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:
- Will participate in analysis and design efforts for enhancing various enterprise system(s) and sub-systems(s), with focus around Business Intelligence (BI) Application database stack.
- Provide Database administration for enterprise databases including ensuring high availability, monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
- Work closely with DBAs and customers evaluating requirements and advise on the best architecture that will meet the needs of the business while adhering to client best practices.
- Lead and perform database upgrades from Oracle versions 12c to 19c (and RAC), including but not limited to support, design, and configuration.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support to DBA personnel.
- All analysis, design support and database administration including but not limited to scripts that are created, modified, tuning of custom scripts, stored procedures, and packaged data fixes etc.
- Schedule knowledge transfer sessions at regular intervals to ensure that all of the work production details have been documented and the knowledge has been transferred to the client personnel.
Mandatory Experience:
- Must have fifteen (15) years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) on Oracle database version 12c or above to include hands-on with Golden Gate or Oracle Data Integrator or PeopleSoft (Financials).
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of expert experience as a Senior DBA supporting databases on Red Hat Linux 7.x or higher and performing Unix shell scripting.
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of expert experience performing Oracle database upgrades and migrations to latest Oracle supported version.
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of experience supporting Oracle databases on ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) database version 12c or higher.
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of expert experience as a DBA supporting databases with a size of at least 10 TB.
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of experience writing documentation (standards, best practices, procedures).
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of experience with Oracle 12c or higher:
- Using Tuning Pack, Diagnostics Pack and Change Management Pack and/or Automatic workload Repository (AWR).
- Writing and tuning PL/SQL objects.
- Supporting Oracle databases that utilize the RMAN backups to disk or other mediums.
- Supporting Oracle databases using replication/materialized views.
- Supporting Oracle databases using triggers.
- Implementing Oracle database auditing facilities.
- Within the last ten (10) years, must have five (5) years of experience as a DBA supporting government retirement and benefits database systems.
- Within the last five (5) years, must have three (3) years of experience supporting Oracle databases in VMWare and Cohesity environment.
- Must be an Oracle DBA Certified Professional (11g or higher). A copy of the certification must be provided upon request.
