We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Trainer that will be
responsible for designing and delivering training programs for Illinois DMV staff, IT teams, and system administrators. The DMV’s operational landscape includes vehicle registration, driver’s licensing, road testing, citation processing, and state compliance.
This role will focus on improving staff understanding of DMV-specific platforms and ensuring effective adoption of technology upgrades and process changes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in instructional design, adult learning strategies, and DMV-specific operations.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

• Expertise in instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and LMS platforms.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field.
• Instructional design certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD) preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience developing training for government or transportation-related agencies.

• 5+ years in technical training or instructional design, with at least 3 years in a government or transportation-related environment.
• Experience training on enterprise-level platforms and public-facing systems.
• Familiarity with DMV-specific processes and regulatory requirements

• Develop and deliver training for DMV staff on systems including vehicle registration, licensing, and compliance platforms.
• Design interactive training modules using industry best practices.
• Conduct live and virtual training sessions for DMV employees at all levels.
• Customize training for different operational areas (e.g., registration clerks, road test examiners, administrative staff).
• Measure training effectiveness through knowledge assessments and adoption rates.
• Update training content regularly to reflect system upgrades and policy changes.
• Provide post-training support and mentoring to ensure successful knowledge transfer.
