Description
Overview: Your role is to create, refine, and maintain comprehensive documentation for various cybersecurity initiatives, services, and procedures to support the SOC team in achieving their objectives. This role requires combining strong technical expertise in cybersecurity with exceptional writing skills to deliver accurate information that is clear, concise, and accessible to various audiences, including internal team members, clients, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, technical reports, white papers, security policies, and training materials related to SOC procedures and tools. Create unique, high-quality technical content that includes in-depth technical overviews, high-level and low-level designs, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process flows. Drive the requirements-gathering phase of system engineering for the various engineering teams within the SOC. Research, write, edit, and proofread complex technical data for use in documents or sections of papers to present highly technical information less technically. Gather information independently from available data in existing knowledgebase/document repositories. Translate complex cybersecurity concepts and terminology into understandable language to support technical and non-technical audiences. Read previous documentation and design notes, and use computer-based training or company technical products to gather and research complex technical information for complex documentation. Liaise with SOC analysts, engineers, and other subject matter experts to gather, validate, and organize relevant technical information needed for documentation. Continuously review and update existing documentation. Develop strict standards for keeping, managing, and making documents available to an organization. Manage the roadmap for documentation control and management. Maintain consistency of documents with organization-wide standards. Ensure all documentation and materials follow appropriate standards, guidelines, and security controls by company policies and industry regulations, such as ISO270001. Qualifications: Skills ITIL Foundation CompTIA Security+ CISSP CISM Systems Engineering Any Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Experience Minimum 6 years’ work experience required Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, image-processing software, and diagramming software like Visio. Expertise in desktop publishing, word processing, presentation, and online document management software. Strong research skills and ability to pick up new technical concepts quickly. Strong attention to detail, excellent grammar, punctuation, planning, and organizational skills. The ability to collaborate effectively with technical Subject Matter Experts, including engineers, programmers, and technical support staff. Demonstrated Cyber Security knowledge across an operational environment. Understanding security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS, and SOAR. Familiarity with Linux/Unix OS, Windows OS, Database technologies, and network infrastructure. Knowledge and implementation of information security components, principles, practices, and procedures.
