JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Technician to join our Architecture + Interiors studio in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our architectural projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.

  • Prepare and revise detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using BIM software
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to develop and refine design solutions
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and project requirements
  • Conduct site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including technical reports and presentations
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues during construction
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards
  • Uses applications to scale and edit assignments involving computer-aided design and other graphics software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit/Rhino) to achieve set results and deadlines.
  • Digitize or trace sketches/ concepts from designers to AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Leads in preparing and producing drawings accurately at preliminary, detailed design and tender stages and suggests improvements where necessary.
  • Applies industry knowledge and technical expertise to complete moderately complex tasks independently, seeking guidance for atypical assignments.
  • Accountable for specific project components with an impact on the team, other project teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzes issues, applies solutions within defined parameters, and contributes to procedural improvements and new ideas.
  • Collaborates with internal teams on routine and non-routine matters, while guiding less experienced colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field
  • Acredited Architectural Technologist
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural drafting or a related field with demonstrable relevant project experience and responsibility
  • Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk software and Revit
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods
  • Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of architectural design principles and sustainable design practices
  • Proven project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working on projects in the UAE or Middle East region is preferred
  • Relevant or additional certifications in BIM/architectural software or building codes are a plus
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required
