At Corbion, we exist to champion preservation in all its forms, preserving food and food production, health, and our planet.
Corbion’s Innovation Center’s Polymer Technology (IC PmT) group is dedicated to developing and transferring bioresorbable and implantable polymer products and technologies from bench scale to production for both medical devices and pharmaceutical applications.
We are seeking a Senior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow technicians, specialists, and engineers under the guidance of a Sr./Pr. Scientist. You will be involved in multidisciplinary innovation projects, provide customer support, and conduct research primarily focused on chemical or process technology, based on proposals from Scientists and/or your manager.

As part of our team, you are expected to :

  • Contribute to the practical execution of innovation projects and customer support projects
  • Lead short term innovation and/or customer support projects and can translate business goals/requests to experimental set-ups.
  • Provide support to other areas and colleagues within the organization with input, information and by supporting technical questions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of research activities and experimental results, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to uphold high standards in R&D processes
  • Contribute to the management of safety and order of the labs

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to innovation projects and customer support projects, active participation and execution of project elements such as data analyses, data processing, writing/presenting reports to transfer knowledge.
  • Prepare project design, planning, and execution of research independently according to the established protocols and procedures of Biomaterials (consult (Sr./Pr.) scientist or manager); signal and report deviations timely. Present realistic planning and deliverables.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members in the preparation, planning, and execution of research activities.
  • Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to GDP (Good Documentation Practice) standards. Report methods, results and techniques used.
  • Analyze, interpret and process results of analyses or experiments, monitor results during research and adjust research when necessary (measure quality of analyses and interpretations, timely actions)
  • Present and discuss results with the team, project team or other departments.
  • Actively participate in maintaining the facilities, equipment, and safety in the labs.
  • Develop new pilot installations and processes. Contribute by implementation, testing, pre-validation and maintenance of new installations
  • Contribute to the development of new protocols together with i.e. (Sr./Pr.) Scientist
  • Support onboarding of colleagues and interns.
  • Follow the state-of -the art in relevant topic by literature survey and/or trainings/courses

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 3 years working experience in biomedical field

  • Knowledge and experience in Polymer chemistry, processes and analytics

  • Customer focused, solution oriented and can-do mentality
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, and proactive approach
  • Strong team-player and good communication skills
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
