Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We are seeking a Senior Technician for Robotics to join the Technical Services team with the Faculty of Engineering and Design. In this hands-on and highly specialised role, you will manage Robotics lab operations to support world-class teaching and research. You will be responsible for: Managing and maintaining laboratory environments Designing and developing hardware/software using technologies such Robot Operating System (ROS), Raspberry Pi, PSOC Supporting design courses and final-year projects in Robotics and Control Systems. Providing expert technical support and guidance to students and academic staff. Actively work on collaborative research projects with industry This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week role on a permanent contract. The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $88,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. He kōrero mōu | About you Our suitable candidate will meet the requirements below: Tertiary qualification in Computer and/or Electronics related Engineering degree. Established experience in hardware and software design (post training) of at least 2 to 3 years. Experience working in a tertiary or educational lab environment (preferred).. Experience with technologies such as Robot Operating System (ROS), Raspberry Pi, PSOC. Knowledge of programming languages Excellent organisational and planning skills. A proactive and independent work style, with a strong focus on health and safety.
