FICC Technology is looking for a Senior Technology Analyst on the Asset Backed Securitization Technology team. The candidate will be actively involved in enhancements related to the platform and will be collaborating with Front Office, Global Middle Office, Back Office, as well as various downstream systems, to collect, clarify, and translate requirements into new application features and functionality. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Collaborates with business partners, including senior management, to define business objectives, process, and requirements
- Within the context of the project, leads discussions with business partners to better understand the business environment, to determine potential impacts on the project scope and objectives, and to amend the requirements where required
- Determines the best approach for eliciting, analyzing, validating, and prioritizing requirements to ensure that the necessary information is captured from the relevant stakeholders to address the business needs
- Identifies and documents project requirements in order to capture required outcomes and ultimately support the business’s overall objectives
- Ensures all necessary stakeholders are engaged in communications between the Information Technology (IT) project team and the business to help identify who should be involved in the identification and development of the requirements
- Participates in the development of strategic and tactical IT plans to help inform future project work of the direction of the business
- Candidate must possess solid business understanding and knowledge of the use of technology and applications in business
- Work hands on with the system to configure it and test it to ensure that it meets the business requirements.
- Developing test criteria to ensure system(s) meet business requirements
- Documenting and providing end user training
- Documenting transition to operations deliverables
- Business knowledge of Securitization/ABS/MBS products a strong asset
- Prior experience with other trading systems in ABS/MBS such as Promerit, TAO Mortgage Hub, or TAO SecureHub a strong asset
- Experience with SQL querying, data validation, and data analysis a must
- Prior Capital Markets experience is a must
Investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services, and inform business decisions. Defines business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data, reviewing and documenting business processes and collaborating with business stakeholders. Sources business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results. Also assesses the efficiency and the performance of technology (software, hardware and the wider IT system) to deliver expected business results. Identifies and analyzes malfunctions, system workflow, and troubleshoots issues raised by business.
- Elicits requirements and analyzes feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes.
- Supports various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development is aligned with the business requirements.
- Develops informative, coherent, and usable project documents (project artifacts) for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Applies depth of domain & functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive the expected business value.
- Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Builds tests cases in order to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
