It’s a framework of common network APIs designed to provide universal access to operator networks for developers. It helps developers and cloud providers enhance and deploy services rapidly across operator networks via single points of access to the world’s largest connectivity platform. As artificial intelligence as a service (AIaaS) continues to gain traction, the synergy between AI and Open Gateway becomes increasingly important. Open Gateway's standardised APIs enable seamless integration of AI-driven applications and services across operator networks, allowing developers to harness network intelligence, automation, and real-time data for enhanced Mobile AI solutions. China is at the forefront of 5G and 5G-Advanced development, with plenty of innovations happening everywhere and anytime. Open Gateway is opening a door to facilitate the platform strategies, to monetize the network capabilities, and to transit the operators to Technical Companies. In addition, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is amplifying these advancements. By leveraging Open Gateway's standardized APIs, Chinese operators and developers can seamlessly integrate AI-driven applications and services across networks. This synergy enables the utilisation of real-time data and network intelligence for smarter automation, enhanced user experiences, and innovative business models, further solidifying China's leadership in next-generation connectivity and intelligent technology in the Mobile AI era. Our focus spans the leadership of MWC Shanghai, as well as the promotion and execution of GSMA’s global programs, advocacy efforts, membership services, and working groups. Through our international events and platforms—including the MWC series, GSMA Intelligence, Mobile World Live, and regional events like Post-MWC Sharing (China Week) and Innovation Forums—we drive industry consensus, amplify our partners’ global impact, and collaborate closely with members and stakeholders across the broader ecosystem. Together, we foster international cooperation and enable the sustainable development and growth of the mobile industry in Greater China. About the Role The Senior Technology Manager, Greater China reports to the Head of Technology, Greater China and will be based in Beijing or Shanghai. The main mission of this role is to promote Open Gateway in China, including but not limited to supporting the open source development of Linux Foundation CAMARA project submissions, designing and conducting pilots to showcase the potential values of Open Gateway APIs, engaging with Open Gateway developers. The role holder will also be moderating the workshops, roundtables and webinars of Open Gateway Greater China group, and cooperating with global teams in technology development, business strategies, public policies, and marketing activities. Additionally, the role requires advancing the synergy between artificial intelligence (AI) and Open Gateway by facilitating the integration of AI-driven applications and services across operator networks using standardised APIs. The candidate should be able to identify and drive opportunities where real-time network data and intelligence can be leveraged for enhanced AI solutions, support pilots that demonstrate AI usage in Open Gateway, and collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to maximize the impact of Mobile AI innovations within the Open Gateway ecosystem. About You You will need to have substantial experience in open source software development and can independently write and amend codes in various programming languages. You will need to be passionate in technology innovation and able to lead tech-related discussion with a wide range of stakeholders. You will need to work closely with strategy, ecosystem engagement, policy, marketing functions and other technology team members across the company. You will need to oversee the progress of Open Gateway API development in Linux Foundation CAMARA project, especially those sub-projects led by Greater China companies. You will need to support the pilots of Open Gateway APIs in Greater China and consolidate the reports for those pilots. You will need to build and develop the Open Gateway developer community in China and engage with the leading developers. You will need to lead the discussion in Open Gateway Greater China group and independently organize workshops and roundtables. You will need to engage with huge number of companies who are interested in Open Gateway in Greater China region or companies who are in the rest of the world but want to develop Open Gateway business with Greater China companies. You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their practical application within telecommunications environments. You will need to identify innovative ways in which AI can be integrated with Open Gateway APIs to enable smarter, more adaptive network services. You will need to be adept at fostering collaborations that leverage real-time network data to develop AI-driven solutions, thereby enhancing operational efficiency, personalisation, and automation across operator networks. You will need to be able to champion initiatives that highlight the transformative impact of combining AI with Open Gateway, driving forward new use cases and supporting the evolution of the Open Gateway ecosystem through Mobile AI innovation. You will need to proactively propose any proposals that may help to thrive Open Gateway and Mobile AI economy in Greater China.
