Job Description
We are looking for a TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST / MANAGER, HYDROMETALLURGY to work together with Battery Metals Technology Team in Metals & Mining Sector and to be responsible for hydrometallurgical technologies.

Work tasks for a (Senior) Technology Specialist include:

  • Lead engineer roles with deep understanding in selected topics/areas.
  • Process modeling and simulation (e.g. HSC sim).
  • Proposal preparation.
  • Business development in selected topics/areas.
  • Close collaboration with clients within global networks.
  • Leading/participating in studies.
  • Technical consulting for the clients in the hydrometallurgical/battery sector.

Work tasks for a Technology Manager include:

  • Sales management.
  • Proposal preparation.
  • Project management.
  • Process modeling and simulation (e.g. HSC sim).
  • Close collaboration with clients within global networks.
  • Leading studies.
  • Technical consulting for the clients in the hydrometallurgical/battery sector.

The role of the Technology Specialist / Manager is to act as a project manager or a technology expert in planning or execution phases of Clients’ investment projects. You would actively contribute to project sales, development of new solutions and ways of working.
Depending on your experience and skills profile, your tasks include sales, proposal development, project management, process engineering tasks as well as development in ways of working and client offering. You are fully supported by multi-skilled colleagues and our international project base provide an opportunity for further professional growth. Our Battery Metals team and Mining & Metals technology group are mainly located in Vantaa and Oulu offices. However, we work in a flexible hybrid model supporting in-office and remote workers.
Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, you have:

  • M.Sc. education or higher in relevant field, preferably process metallurgy or chemical engineering.
  • Strong experience with hydrometallurgical processes/battery metals refining in operating plants/design/development projects.
  • Knowledge in hydrometallurgy, battery chemicals, anode and/or cathode materials, pre-cursor active materials (PCAM) / cursor active materials (CAM).
  • Fluency in English – other language skills are seen as an advantage, especially Finnish.

You have a background in hydro- or pyrometallurgy, either in industry or engineering.

  • In the position of a Technology Specialist, deep knowledge of the field and ability to provide practical client solutions.
  • In the position of a Technology Manager, ability to act as in leading expert role in projects.

You stand out if you have great cooperation and communication skills, active and solution-oriented mindset and problem solving skills. Ability to develop new solutions and approaches in a client-oriented manner in seen as an advantage as well as modelling of metallurgical processes.
We appreciate knowledge of non-ferrous metals (Cu, Ni, Co, Zn, Li) processing and/or natural and synthetic graphite materials.
