LCRA manages substantial Telecommunications infrastructure in Texas, crucial for its ongoing business activities and meeting customer needs. Through initiatives like powering Texas, managing the Colorado River, and expanding LTE/Broadband access in rural areas, LCRA plays a pivotal role in the region. This role involves driving site deployments, mentoring junior staff, creating upgrade plans, and impacting the technological trajectory of LCRA's communication infrastructure. Join us in shaping the future of telecommunications at LCRA! You will be trusted to: - Propose and design moderately complex to complex telecommunications infrastructure; to include shelters, huts, power drops, conduits, and other items related to infrastructure builds. - Propose and design moderately complex to complex transport to new and existing telecommunications locations; to include fiber optics, microwave, cellular and more. Cost is a factor. - Work independently as lead on capital projects and act as a project consultant and specialist. - Maintain a strategic outlook and product road map for industry trends, technology changes, developments, and obsolescence within the LCRA telecom network. - Identify actual or potential problems, investigates, analyzes, and develops corrective actions to be taken, and drafts mitigation strategies, including proposing capital projects to correct. - Act as a resource and training asset for those less skilled in infrastructure related designs. - Maintain thorough knowledge of engineering principles, LCRA procedures, equipment, and systems. You qualify with: - Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas plus eight or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job, including providing technical leadership in engineering.   - Driver's license You are a great fit with: - Experience designing and deploying Telecom shelter and tower footprints. - Experience with designing Telecommunications transport infrastructure (Microwave, Fiber) to facilities. - SME in R56 grounding standards. - SME in NEC and NESC code. - Experience working with carriers. - Experience working with electric utilities. - Experience with FAA & FCC Licensing/Permitting to include NEPA.
