We’re seeking a Senior Telecommunications Field Engineer to support our expanding client base. This role suits an experienced professional in networking or telecommunications who is eager to grow, learn, and take their technical skills to the next level in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
This hands-on, varied role includes both remote and on-site support (FIFO/DIDO as required). As part of our team, you will:

Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor network and communication system performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Analyse equipment failure trends and recommend replacements or upgrades.
  • Provide technical advice and support across departments, especially regarding onboard communication hardware faults.
  • Monitor wireless signal strengths across active mining areas and conduct preventative maintenance on trailer and tower infrastructure.
  • Relocate communication trailers as needed to maintain optimal radio coverage.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests via the ServiceNow application and maintain fleet map integrity, including the Tetra Digital two-way system database.
  • Support project work as directed by on-site communications supervisors.
  • Offer on-call support for network issues and contribute feedback to fault resolution processes.
  • Assist in planning mine communication infrastructure and advise on technology selection and deployment.

TECHNICAL DUTIES:

  • Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair wireless and satellite networks.
  • Integrate telecommunications systems with hardware, software, peripherals, databases, and operating systems.
  • Maintain inventories, parts logs, and equipment status; ensure thorough documentation of policies and quality standards.
  • Advise on complex telecommunications systems and monitor performance.
  • Design and plan customer access telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure contractual and delivery compliance.
  • Commission and provision new network equipment and perform comprehensive testing.
  • Manage and upgrade service-affecting equipment, adhering to OH&S protocols.
  • Travel for long FIFO/DIDO assignments to remote customer sites.
